A little about SRG and what to expect on your adventure.

Our programming

We instruct a number of Outdoor Recreation and First Aid programs.   We offer beginner and advanced First Aid training.  Both WorksafeBC and Canadian Red Cross courses are covered.  We also provide Alpine, Rock Climbing, Rafting, Canoeing and Expedition programs.  We utilize Both North and Central Coasts of British Columbia.  As well locations in and around Vancouver Island.


Beautiful Locations

We live, work and play in this region of Western Canada.  We know all the hidden gems along the way to your final destination.  

Which ever adventure you chose you will experience what truly being in some of the remotest sections of British Columbia and Canada feels like.  True wilderness with spectacular wildlife viewing is standard with all trips and expeditions.  Rivers, waterfalls, mountains, ocean, and lakes are abundant through-out our region of Canada.

Ray Hawkes

 Ray has both land based and marine based qualifications and guiding experience. Ray brings years of Adventure Guiding and Instruction within BC. As a certified mountain and rock climbing guide.  Ray has instructed numberous rock climbing and mountaineering courses and guiding programs. Ray is also an CRC Emergency Care Advanced First Aid Instructor and WorkSafeBC Instructor.  As well a certified PADI Divemaster, Paddle Canada Instructor and a unrestricted white water guide certifications.  Ray holds NFPA Fire Service Instructor, Fire Officer and Fire Inspector certifications as well, bringing over 20 years within the Fire Service to SRG..

Corey Boux

Corey brings both marine and land based certifications and experience. Corey works as both a heli-ski guide and a white water rafting guide based out of Whistler BC. Corey brings years of guiding in both land based and water based activities and is an asset to our team. Corey is Swift Water Tech. certified, rock climbing instructor and Ski Canada Guide certified. Corey is also Avalanche Canada qualified.

   

Dave Prothero

 Dave brings years of white water and ocean experience to SRG. Dave has guided around the world on some of the longest and most remote rivers. Dave instructs in the Canadian Outdoor Leadership School on Vancouver Island. Dave is Swift Water Technician certified and a key asset to SRG’s swift water team.

Ian Cox

Dr. Cox is a current serving member of the Canadian Forces whom is currently stationed at CFB Esquimalt. Dr. Cox is an avid white water kayaker, rafting guide, rock climber and mountaineer. Ian assists SRG with our expeditions, white water rescue training and other training programs. 


Jerome Bourget

Jerome is a current Canadian Forces serving member. At present Mr. Bourget works as a Search and Rescue Technician based out of CFB Comox. Jerome is well versed in both marine and land based activities. Jerome is a certified diver, skydiver, paramedic and very qualified with respects to rope rescue certifications. Jerome holds an unrestricted River Raft Guides License presently.
